Where I was on 9/11
I was in Biology Lab at Benedictine College when Brother Larry announced to the class that two airplanes had flown into the World Trade Center towers in New York City. I was thoroughly confused by what he said. I kept thinking, "He must have his story wrong. Why would planes be flown into buildings?" Once I digested the message, I called my mom at work to make sure she was okay. I left my lab and went to my dorm room to turn on the tv to get more information about what had occurred. As soon as I saw the images on the tv, the enormity of the situation set in like a lead brick in my stomach. Ironically, my best friend called from college to talk about what we were witnessing on tv. This was ironic because we did not call each other during the day since we were both in school. Hearing each others voices and talking about this event helped us to fully understand what we had just witnessed.
