I was a supervisor at UPS in Lenexa when one my loaders had 98.9 the rock on the radio and all of sudden, we hear Peter Jennings voice on the air and we begin hearing about the planes crashing in to the World Trade Center. Then we started hearing rumors that the Capital had been hit or the White House was under siege. I was heading home when the first tower went down. Called my folks after I got home and we wondered who did it. But even on that day, there was a feeling of a collective closeness with our fellow Americans.
